What This Page Does

This endpoint is compliant with Facebook Platform Policy and GDPR Article 17 (Right to Erasure). When you remove GetTranzport from your Facebook connected apps, Facebook sends a deauthorization callback to this endpoint, triggering our automated data handling process. 1. What Happens When You Deauthorize

When you remove GetTranzport from your Facebook connected apps (via Facebook Settings > Apps & Websites), Facebook notifies us within 24 hours. We initiate a soft-deletion process: your email, phone number, and profile photo are anonymised; your name is removed from public-facing profiles; and any Facebook-specific data (profile picture URL, friend list, linked accounts) is permanently deleted from our systems.

2. Deletion Timeline

Soft-deletion begins within 24 hours of receiving the Facebook deauthorization callback
Personal identifiers are anonymised immediately
Full removal from backup systems occurs within 30 days
Confirmation email is sent once the process is complete

3. Data Retained After Deauthorization

Certain records are retained for legal and regulatory compliance:

Trip history and booking records — 7 years (Canadian tax law and FINTRAC regulations)
Payment records and transaction logs — 7 years
Anonymised aggregate data for business analytics — contains no personally identifiable information

4. Reactivating Your Account

If you sign in again with Facebook within 30 days of deauthorization, your account will be reactivated and your data restored. After 30 days, the soft-deletion becomes permanent and you will need to create a new account. We recommend downloading your trip history and receipts before deauthorizing.

5. Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have rights under GDPR (EU/EEA), CCPA (California), PIPEDA (Canada), and other data protection laws:

Right to access your data
Right to correct inaccurate data
Right to delete your data
Right to data portability
Right to object to processing

6. Full Data Deletion vs Deauthorization

Facebook deauthorization removes the connection between your Facebook account and GetTranzport. A full data deletion request (available at gettranzport.com/data-deletion) goes further — it permanently deletes your entire account, all trip history, payment records, and personal data, subject only to legal retention requirements.
